Edible mushroom library

One hundred edible species with the statistics that actually decide whether a grow will work: season, habitat, substrate, cap and stem dimensions, spore print, fruiting temperature, biological efficiency and flavour. Click any photograph to open the full reference, including the species it is most often confused with.

58 of the 100 entries can be cultivated at home. The rest are mycorrhizal woodland species that grow only in partnership with a living tree, which is why no yield figure is given for them.

This is a reference library, not an identification tool

Mushroom.casa Grow Log does not identify wild mushrooms and gives no edibility, dosing or consumption guidance. Photographs are representative of the genus, not a record of a specific specimen, and many edible species have dangerous lookalikes that a photograph alone cannot separate. Never eat a mushroom you cannot identify with certainty, and never rely on this page to make that decision.

Putting the figures to work

The biological efficiency figures here are the same envelopes the grow log uses to project a yield from a substrate weight. If you want to see what a given species is likely to return before you commit to a grow, the yield calculator runs the same arithmetic without an account. When you start recording real harvests, the log replaces the estimate with your own numbers.
